Day 164-Happy Birthday & Hi-HatCupcakes

Yesterday was my hubby's 26th birthday so to celebrate I made Hi-Hat cupcakes (discovered on Pinterest of course!) and we had a small get together with some friends to BBQ

These cupcakes look much more difficult to make than they actually were.  They were super fun to make and a big hit at the BBQ.

I only made 12 cupcakes with 1 candle in each.  My mom decided that this just wasn't acceptable and put 14 more candles in one poor cupcake so the hubby could blow out the correct 26 candles!

A couple friends left early and took 2 cupcakes before we could light the candles so that's why you see the 2 votive candles in the back there.

As you can see candles and birthday wishes are very important to my mom, and as a result are very important to me.

Happy Birthday Babe!

Day 163-Playroom Makeover

I've spent the last couple of days painting and organizing the girls' playroom.

I wanted to make it a place that was bright and fun where they could spend time playing and growing together.

The playroom went from this

To this

I still have a long list of to do's...

-hang pictures on the walls
-make monogramed wall art for above shelves
-get a rug
-some sort of DIY decoration on toybox
-paint blackboard on the wall with chalkboard paint
-white table and chairs

lots left to do but for now I'm loving it and so are the girls!

Happy Birthday Sweet Bailey!

My intention was to do this post on Bailey's actual birthday, July 12th, but that sadly didn't happen.

I'd say that 3 days late isn't too bad considering everything going on..it's the thought that counts right?

Even 3 days after her birthday I still can't stop thinking about how unbelievable it is that Bailey has blessed my life for a whole year...Where does the time go?

I've watched my baby girl in complete awe for the past year.  My sweet, mellow baby grows and learns something new each and every day and it is an incredible thing to be a part of.

Every time I get a glimpse of her smile, with her crinkled up nose, my heart swells with so much love and pride that I think it might explode.

Miss Bailey brings so much joy and love to my life that it's impossible to remember what life was like before her.

Happy birthday sweet girl!

(I'm also going to very sneakily count these pictures as days 150-154 bc I'm so stinking far behind!)

We celebrated Miss Bailey's 1st birthday on Sunday and it was a great time!

presents

Because we have more toys in our house than we know what to do with I included this poem on the invitation...

Just one last request and we hope it's not hard,
please bring your favorite childrens book in place of a gift and a card
please sign your book so we can remember and share
your special gift even when you're not there

We received so many great books with sweet messages that I know Bailey will enjoy looking back on!

Her Uncle Wes didn't play by the rules though and got her a bowlng set...which apparentely was her favorite present of the day :)

and of course, the smash cake pictures ;)

Days 145-149

I has been a whirlwind 5 days here so please forgive me for being MIA

My little sister went up to the Seattle area to see her boyfriend for the holiday weekend.  Sunday morning our mom got a phone call from a hospital there telling us that there had been an accident where her foot/ankle was run over.  Thank God she is ok but she has extensive injuries and has had 2 surgeries since Sunday, one on Sunday and one today.

On top of this poor Miss Bailey woke up Tuesday morning with a terrible rash so we spent some time at the pediatricians office.  We were sent home with a weeks worth of oral steriods and she's doing great now.
Long story short. (or long story long?) I've been spending as much time as possible with my sister and not a whole lot of time taking pictures for my 365 project :(

Here's what I've got for the past 5 days..all taken from my phone and very poor quality but it'll have to do :/
