Homemade Baby Food
So I've been toying with the idea of making baby food for Bailey since I read about it online a couple of months ago but for some reason I wouldn't make a committment...I don't have the time, it's too messy, blah, blah blah!
I was talking with my Grandma last week about Miss Bailey's awful poop problems, or rather lack of poop problems...TMI huh? Grandma suggested that I try feeding Bailey spinach, which of course is the one vegetable in the world not offered in store bought baby food...yes, I know I'm being dramatic.
Needless to say last night was the night that I finally decided to venture into the baby food business.
It. is. SO. EASY.
First, I went to the grocery store and got sweet potatoes, pears, peas, and frozen spinach. Then, thanks to my terrible mommy brain, I went to the store again and got ice cube trays.
Next, I boiled the peas and spinach, roasted the sweet potatoes, and steamed the pears. Not all at once.
From there all I did was put each cooked item in my blender, with enough of the water that it cooked in, until it reach baby food consistency. Again, not all at once.
Then I poured everything into ice cube trays and put it in the freezer
This morning I took all of the trays out and popped out all of the food cubes
Put each flavor in it's own ziplock baggy
And put them back into the freezer for safe keeping!
That's it!
Now when Miss Bailey is hungry we grab a couple cubes, nuke them in the microwave, and have some tasty homemade food!
Here's Bailey's review
Oh, and for those of you wondering, the spinach worked!
